Canceling Enrollment

If you decide to cancel enrollment for a class or classes, the director must be notified in writing 7 days prior to the end of the month to prevent additional tuition charges. You must pay the full monthly amount of the last month of enrollment regardless of attendance.

Observation

Parents may observe only during designated times at the director’s discretion; otherwise, parents/guardians may drop their child off or wait in our designated waiting room.

Tours

Tours of the studio must be coordinated with the director in advance, drop-in tours will not be allowed.

Snow Days and Weather Cancellations

If classes should be canceled due to inclement weather, an email will be sent out and posts will be made on Facebook and Instagram by 2:00pm. We may not always close the same days as schools do, so be sure to check that before arrival if we have inclement weather. If a class is canceled due to weather, a make-up class will be provided within a week of the missed class, when possible.

Drop Off and Pick Up

The earliest that dancers may arrive at the studio prior to class time is 15 minutes, and no earlier. Dancers must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after the end of class. Being picked up any later than that will result in a $10 fee for each additional 10 minutes in which the dancer is not picked up. Dancers 12 years of age or older may wait at the studio between classes if necessary.

Medications and Substances

The director of Outlaw Dance Company (“ODC”) must be notified of any prescription medications (inhalers, epiPens, medications, etc.) that the student may need to bring to class with them prior to taking any classes or as soon as prescribed by a medical professional. Students may not share medications, inhalers, etc. All substances including tobacco and tobacco substitute products such as vapes, alcohol, marijuana, and all illegal substances are strictly prohibited at ODC and all ODC events.

Health and Injury Communication

The safety and well-being of our dancers is a main priority at ODC. Therefore, any and all injuries which occur outside of class time or accommodations for which the student may need (according to a medical professional) should be reported immediately to the director, to prevent further injury. Any injuries which occur during class will be documented along with the actions taken to avoid further injury, such as an ice pack being applied, the student sitting out for the remainder of class, etc. Then a subsequent phone call will be made to the parent or guardian as soon as possible, notifying them of the injury.

Behavioral Expectations and Dismissal

The physical, mental, and emotional safety of our students is a priority at ODC. Therefore, bullying of any kind will NOT be tolerated from students and/or parents. Students AND parents are expected to be respectful to all students, teachers, staff, guests, and parents. Gossip of any kind about or directed at students, teacher(s), and/or parents will NOT be tolerated. Additionally, unsafe behavior of any kind, will not be permitted. Students are expected to follow all directions of the instructor. Stealing items that do not belong to the student is prohibited. Failure to follow any of these guidelines may result in permanent dismissal from ODC, and in extreme cases, refunds may not be permitted.

Attendance and Tardiness

All students are expected to attend all of their classes. Most classes at ODC are in preparation for a live performance opportunity. Therefore, it is ESSENTIAL that all dancers be present during rehearsal time. If a student needs to miss a class, it must be for a reason deemed acceptable in the director’s discretion, such as illness, family emergency, etc. If a student is planning to be away for vacation, and will miss one or more classes, the director must be notified no later than 1 month prior to the missed class(es). The student will be responsible for making up the missed choreography (if necessary), via videos which will be provided for the absent student. Any student on a competition team, who has more than three unexcused absences, may be dismissed from the competition team at the director’s discretion, and will not be allowed to compete in competition. Any other student who has more than five unexcused absences may not be permitted to perform in the Spring recital. At ODC, we pride ourselves on taking performance opportunities very seriously. As such, it is unfair for some students to have good attendance while others do not, as lack of attendance greatly affects the success of a performance for all students involved. Students are expected to be on time to all classes. It is important for our dancers to be properly warmed up before dancing, in order to avoid injuries. If a student is tardy and misses the warm-up, they may be asked to sit out for the remainder of the class for safety reasons. If a student is more than 15 minutes late, the director may, at their discretion, count this as an unexcused absence.

Cellphones, Cameras, and Other Devices

Cellphones, tablets, cameras, or any other photo or video capturing devices are not permitted to be used at ODC without permission from the director. During class time, all of the above-mentioned devices are to be turned off or set to silent and stored in dance bags. Recording videos or taking pictures of any kind is strictly prohibited on ODC grounds (including in the bathrooms and the waiting room) or at ODC events. Competitions and recitals will have specific rules regarding this policy. Please stay tuned and pay attention to policies surrounding those events which will be discussed prior to the event. No videos or photos are permitted to be posted on social media without the consent of the director and all of those being recorded and/or photographed.

Photos/Video Release

You hereby grant ODC, its representatives, employees, or agents the right to take photographs and video footage of you and your property while at ODC and to use and publish these photos or videos in print and/or electronically.  You agree that ODC may use photographs or video footage of you with or without your name for any lawful purposes, including for such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising and web content.

Additional Information

No street shoes will be permitted on the dance studio floors to maintain cleanliness and to prevent slippery and/or corrosive substances such as mud, salt, etc. from being brought onto the dance floors. Please do not bring any food and/or drinks other than water into the studio. Please make sure your dancer has plenty of water in a resealable water bottle for dance class. Please label your students’ belongings with their name prior to bringing them on the premises, to avoid personal items being lost and/or accidentally taken. This includes, but is not limited to, shoes, water bottles, etc. The studio bathrooms are shared with other businesses in the building, therefore, for safety purposes, students using the restroom must be escorted there by either their parent(s) or the instructor.
